Butterfly Kisses

 

 

Fathers and daughters, grandfathers and granddaughters, and uncles and nieces enjoy a memorable afternoon on Sunday, March 3 at the annual Butterfly Kisses Father-Daughter Dance at the Cedar Rapids Marriott. Girls will experience a memorable time with their favorite guy as they dance, make crafts, and doll up with Mary Kay.

The 2013 event is scheduled for Sunday, March 3 from 1-4 p.m. at Cedar Rapids Marriott. Ticket prices are $75 per couple, and $15 for each additional daughter. Each ticket purchase includes one auction key to be used at a chance to unlock and win fabulous prizes, including an American Girl Doll theme package with doll cabinet or a pink South Sea pearl earring and bracelet set.

Features include a Glitz and Glam Station, portrait of father/daughter by Joe Photo, balloon figures with Papa Balloon, photo booth by Hawkeye Photo Booth, light luncheon, take-home gifts, chance to win prizes, crafts, silent auction, and new to 2013, the Butterfly Boutique eclectic market.

A full-size child’s playhouse, valued at over $2500, is available at the silent auction. The 8′x9′   playhouse will be delivered to the auction winner’s home on a trailer, fully assembled, after March 22. The winner is responsible for installation of the playhouse.

Funds raised at Butterfly Kisses support Junior League of Cedar Rapids’ mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women through the effective action of trained volunteers and improving the community. JLCR is in its second year of Bridging the G.A.P. (Guide. Advocate. Provide.), a three-part program working with local foster youth. Junior League has partnered with other local nonprofits and governmental agencies to support the approximately 900 youth in foster care in the Cedar Rapids area, 40% of whom are teens.

2013 Butterfly Kisses tickets can be purchased online or by contacting the JLCR office until noon on Friday, March 1.  Tickets will be available at the door on Sunday, March 3 beginning at 12:45 p.m.
